Sorting

Sort through all your belongings, like your furniture, children’s toys, clothes, books and even crockery. Give any unwanted items to your friend or the local charity home. Don’t pack them and take them with you and only to have them sorted out in the new home.

从家具、儿童玩具、衣服、书籍和餐具等，一一分类所有物品。把你不需要的物品转赠给朋友或慈善集团。千万别把它们也带到新家，这只会加重你的负担来整理。

Labels all boxes clearly

Make sure that all boxes are labelled clearly with their contents. You can take it a step further by using colour coding to organise where the boxes will go in your new home.

Small boxes for heavy items like books and large boxes for light items like linens and pillows. This is to reduce the chance of breaking your valuables and making the moving job easier. Put heavier items at the bottoms of the boxes, lighter items on top.

Use the tape generously to close the bottom and top seams, then making a couple of wraps all the way around the box’s top and bottom edges, where pressure is concentrated.

Bundle the breakables

As you pack your dishes, put packing paper around each one, then wrap bundles of five or six together with more paper. Cups and bowls can be placed inside one another, with paper in between, and wrapped three or four in a bundle. Pack them all in a dish-barrel boxes and label it “FRAGILE – THIS SIDE UP”.

These days, the shutters are usually attached to the inside of the windows. Shutters are attached to the panels, and these panels are in turn attached to the window casing.

These are the types of considerations that are taken into account when you want to assess the fengshui of a house. Here are some guidance to select a house with good fengshui.

Lot Placement

Be sure your house receives good energy from its surroundings, a clean street, good neighbours, no “sha chi” from nearby structures, no sloping land behind the house, and etc.

Southwest and Northwest

These are the two most important directions in a house. The Northwest should never have an open flame, such as a gas stove. This is a fengshui taboo. To have a house such as this is to invite severe difficulties for the man of the house. Look at Southwest, this is the position for the woman or mother of the house. If there is a storeroom or bathroom located here, there could be marital difficulties and unhappiness.
